Oklahoma framebuilder Eric Doswell of Edoz Bicycles talks with us about his influences, the challenges of translation between buyer and builder, film dipping, and how a broken chainstay led him to his first frame. Eric keeps a great blog on his work that you can check out at http://edozbicycles.wordpress.com/ Many thanks to Nic Fox for making this interview happen, and to Sean Dylan of Anchor End Audio for the editing and audio engineering.

2010 TxCBS Roundtable #2

Elliott McFadden, creator of Violet Crown Cycles and the comprehensive online magazine Austin on 2 Wheels, hosted two round tables during the 2010 TxCBS.
(from A2W): "The weekend of October 16-17, 2010, framebuilders from all over Texas and beyond descended on Austin for the third annual Texas Custom Bicycle Show. In addition to all the great show bikes and cyclocross racing, I hosted two framebuilder round table discussions on Day 1 of the show. The idea was to expand on the framebuilder profiles I’ve already been doing but in a more relaxed dialogue from different builders. My hope is that these discussions will help listeners learn more about what goes into the craft of framebuilding and help you pick the right builder for you if you are taking the custom bike plunge."Roundtable 2010 TxCBS #2

Texas Framebuilders are excited to present the 4th Annual Texas Custom Bicycle Show, and this year we are doing more than just putting on an extraordinary show! In addition to showcasing the south's finest frame fabricators, we will be donating 20% of the ticket sales to Central Texas' largest and most diverse bicycling non profit, the Austin Cycling Association. We believe in the mission of landing more people in the saddle and creating a better future for all riders. This year's show will be held at the Austin Convention Center, centrally located in Texas's most bike-friendly city.
